What's New

We are happy to announce the official release of SharePoint Zip 2.0. SharePoint Zip allows users to download multiple files from and upload multiple files to SharePoint as a single Zip file. This saves both user time and network bandwidth, and has many applications from content publishing, to data backup, to offline file access. The new (supported) version of SharePoint Zip resolves several issues from the pre-release (free) version and adds advanced capabilities.

New Capabilities

Resolved Issues

SharePoint Zip 2.0 now supports forms-based authentication. This makes SharePoint Zip a great tool for intranet, extranet, and now Internet SharePoint sites!

Downloaded Zip files no longer contain extraneous directories like “wwwroot”, “inetpub” or “Forms”.

SharePoint Zip 2.0 now supports downloading and uploading of very large (multi-gigabyte) Zip files. This is a must-have for SharePoint sites that store large documents, like digital images and video files.

Downloading empty SharePoint folders no longer generates an error about a “corrupted zip file”.

SharePoint Zip 2.0 supports load-balanced SharePoint farms. The workload of processing Zip file contents now scales across all web front-end servers in the SharePoint farm.

Normal (non-administrator) users no longer get permissions errors when using SharePoint Zip.
