Books

Whenever we went to a client site, we would invariably get asked, "Is there a book I can get to teach our content managers how to create engaging SharePoint environments without code?" Unfortunately, the answer was no. Oh sure, there were plenty of books that dealt with administrators and developers, but the content managers are a far more numerous segment of the SharePoint user population, and they were being ignored.

So what were we to do but write our own book. We are currently in the final stages of writing SharePoint Server 2007 Survival Guide, through Manning Press. The book captures a lot of our SharePoint consulting experience, and unlike many books, shows users how to take advantage of MOSS features. It focuses on solving real business problems using SharePoint, rather than on the technology. Don't worry, there is plenty of tech in there, but the focus is on how to make use of all the tech and features to make something that users will actually want to use.
