Bradley T. Smith

Bradley Thomas Smith is a software developer providing business technology consulting services. He became involved in software development and consulting using Microsoft technologies after serving a tour in the United States Marine Corps, and has since been doing business primarily with the US Department of Defense and associated agencies.

Bradley became experienced at using Microsoft development technologies for knowledge management, content management and collaboration systems due to the continual and growing demand for solutions in these areas. After being exposed to SharePoint Portal 2001 and SharePoint Team Services, they became one of his primary platforms for knowledge management solution deployment.

Bradley went on to become involved in the Beta communities for the next versions of SharePoint Products and Technologies. His expertise and willingness to offer assistance to members of the community won him his first Microsoft MVP award in April 2004.  This was after accomplishing several high-profile exceptionally successful deployments of the SharePoint products, the most notable of which was the first deployment of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 into a tactical combat zone in support of the military mission in Afghanistan.

His work with MS Office server product teams led to a seat on the Office Developer Advisory Council, allowing Bradley to contribute towards upcoming Office Server products and subsequently, the Office 12 Technology Adoption Program.  Bradley received his second Microsoft MVP award in April 2005, his third award in April 2006, and his fourth award in April 2007 for his continuing contributions in the general community for the next versions of SharePoint Products and Technologies and continuing dedication to work with and grow the defense and commercial communities.

In 2005, Bradley founded Black Blade Associates, Inc. to provide real world solutions to customers in the public and private sectors.  Several individuals of exceptional ability have joined the firm, and Black Blade has established partnerships with several key systems integrators and consultant firms in the Washington DC/Metro area.
