Bradley Smith became involved in software development and consulting using Microsoft technologies after serving a tour in the United States Marine Corps as a 4067: ADA Programmer. After his Honorable Discharge from the Corps, he participated in and helped guide the growth of a successful Mid-Atlantic Microsoft partner consulting firm; contributing to a significant revenue and resource increase in his first 12 months. In a later position, he established a new practice for a small staffing company built around high quality Subject Matter Expert consulting for Microsoft business solutions. He was instrumental in the organization's achievement of Microsoft Gold Partner status in less than a year.
In 2005, Brad and Eugene founded Black Blade Associates, Inc. to provide high quality solutions to customers in the public and private sectors. Already well established as experts in the knowledge management field, the founders immediately began to provide best-of-breed solutions and advisory services to large enterprise customers around the world. Individuals of exceptional ability have continued to join the firm, and Black Blade has established partnerships with several key systems integrators, consultant firms, and vendors in the Washington DC/Metro area and the Microsoft market segments.
From an pesonal perspective, his work with MS Office server product teams led him to be provided a seat on the Office Developer Advisory Council in 2004, allowing Bradley to contribute towards upcoming Office Server products and subsequently, the Office 12 Technology Adoption Program. Bradley is a 4-time reciepient of the Microsoft “Most Valued Professional” award for his continuing contributions in the general community for the next versions of SharePoint Products and Technologies and continuing dedication to work with and grow the defense and commercial markets for Microsoft business software. He lives in Burke, Virginia with his wife and two sons.
